We use these 'Zones of Regulation' as a systematic approach to teaching self-regulation. 

We are learning to categorise all the different ways we feel, and states of alertness we experience, into these four concrete coloured zones. 

Each year, as part of Safety Week, all of the children think about 'Emotional Safety'.  

Each class are explicitly taught and practises CALMING strategies.
